Service Objectives
The Clinical Psychology Service is a professional unit of the YMMSS. Through collaboration with social workers, we provide clinical psychological service to persons in need. Our clinical psychologists are registered members of the Hong Kong Psychological Society (Clinical Psychology Division), and with professional qualification at Masters level or above.
Our goal is to promote the mental health and harmonious interpersonal relationships of people in need; prevent emotional and mental problems, and assist our service users to handle their emotional or mental problems.
Service Contents
- Psychological assessments – IQ, emotions and psychological problems and to help the referrer for counseling plan and follow up services for the service users
- Psychological counseling – assist service users work on problems related to psychological, behavioral and mental health issues, to increase their ability to solve problems, and to improve their psychological and mental health
- Participate in community networking – through cooperation with relevant social service units, and to promote clinical psychology service through referrals, communication, and talks, etc.
Service Target
Any person who is suitable for our service, irrespective of age, gender, sex orientation, religion, race, disabilities, and financial situation.
Service Boundaries
Part of Mongkok and Tai Kok Tsui districts.
Application of Services
- Service users have to go through an assessment by a social worker at the Mongkok Integrated Family Service Centre, and be referred to Clinical Psychology Service
- For service users who do not reside in the Mongkok and Tai Kok Tsui district, please approach the District Integrated Family Service Centre at your residential district to enquire and to make a referral.
- Residents within our service boundary (part of Mongkok and Tai Kok Tsui)
Withdrawal of Services
In general, termination will be decided jointly by the service user and the clinical psychologist. Service users can also terminate the service at anytime. When required, the clinical psychologist can also terminate the service based on the rules and regulations that are laid down by the Hong Kong Psychological Society. For details on relevant information, please enquire at our Centre.
Fee
Individual/family counselling is free. There will be a fee charged for group activities and talks. For details, please refer to the promotional pamphlet for individual programmes.
