Service Objectives

  1. Provide semi-independent residential care services and life skills training for service users;
  2. Enhance the ability of service users to live independently and promote their integration into community life;
  3. Assist service users in improving their quality of life and discovering their potential through the provision of support and resources.

Service Format

The service unit achieves the above objectives through individual counseling, personal or group training, activities, and support services.

Service Content

  1. Residential accommodation and meal services
  2. Temporary accommodation and meal services
  3. The dormitory adopts the “V-RICH” service model, creating personalized care and training plans for residents to enhance their independent living skills (including daily living skills, social/interpersonal communication skills, decision-making skills, etc.)
  4. Social and recreational activities
  5. Family support services
  6. Community participation and inclusion activities
  7. Outreach program with private doctors
  8. Volunteer services

Service Recipients:

  1. Individuals aged 15 or above with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities;
  2. Individuals aged 15 or above with physical disabilities;
  3. Individuals who are capable of semi-independent living, possess self-care abilities, but require some degree of assistance or support in household chores such as cooking or washing, shopping, or community living activities;
  4. Individuals who are currently in open employment or receiving day rehabilitation services, attending special schools, or vocational training centers; and
  5. Individuals whose physical and mental conditions are suitable for group living.

Service Application

The unit only accepts referrals from the Social Welfare Department Rehabilitation Services Central Referral System. Applicants can go to the Social Welfare Department Family Services Centre in their area or seek assistance from social workers of other welfare organizations to apply to the Social Welfare Department for central waiting list services.

Temporary Accommodation Service: Applications can be made directly to the unit, or referred by social workers from the Medical Social Services Department, Integrated Family Service Centre, special schools or rehabilitation services.

Fees

  • $897 per month for 50% disabled adults; (Additional $160 per month miscellaneous fee)
  • $977 per month for 100% disabled adults / Disability Allowance recipients.(Additional $160 per month miscellaneous fee)

Temporary Accommodation:

Service users currently receiving disability allowance

Daily fee $33(Includes accommodation fee, breakfast and dinner)

Service users not currently receiving disability allowance

Daily fee $30(Includes accommodation fee, breakfast and dinner)

Withdrawal of Services

Service users or their families can voluntarily request to withdraw from the service at any time. The assistant hostel warden will follow up to understand the reasons and arrange for the completion of the “Service Termination Consent Form,” collecting feedback from service users and their families.
