Impact Story
🤝 Your Support Kindles Hope and Restores Dignity 🤝
Behind every life transformed is a family finding its footing again—and a step closer to a truly inclusive society.
Our self-financed initiatives—including Graceful Living Integrated Rehabilitation Services (residential care for persons with disabilities), the Independent Living Plan, and the Yau Tsim Mong Family Growth Hub (ethnic minority services)—operate entirely without recurrent government subvention. Free from traditional constraints, this self-sustaining model empowers us to deliver agile, deeply personal, and immediate support to individuals and non-Chinese speaking families in need.
Yet, upholding these high-caliber programs—from specialized life-skills training and community integration to essential facility upgrades—remains an uphill battle. We rely whole-heartedly on the generosity of visionary donors like you to keep these lifelines running.
Every individual with disabilities deserves the right to self-actualization and a life of dignity.
Every soul lost in life’s storms deserves a fair chance at a fresh start.
Every unsung caregiver deserves the warm, unwavering embrace of a caring community.
Join us on this journey—and help us keep hope alight.
Walking Through the Darkness: Embracing a New Life in Love and Faith

Rana Damarsing (left) and Pun Rabin meet regularly in Yau Tsim Mong Family Education and Support Centre. Both has a strong bond built in staying drug free and supporting suffering brothers in the community.
Rana Damarsing is a Nepalese residing in Hong Kong. His connection with Hong Kong began with his father, who served in the British Army here. Born at Shek Kong Camp, Damarsing later returned to Nepal before moving back to Hong Kong at the age of 22 to start life anew.
During his early years living alone in Hong Kong, Damarsing experienced profound loneliness. To cope with the isolation, he began taking cough syrup—a habit that gradually spiralled out of control. As his addiction worsened, cough syrup could no longer satisfy him. He turned to hard drugs, including heroin and methamphetamine, sinking into the abyss of polydrug abuse. Chronic addiction caused his life to fall apart completely. He lost his job and committed crimes driven by his addiction, resulting in repeated imprisonments. Ultimately, he became homeless on the streets and lost all hope in life. Though he attempted drug rehabilitation several times during this period, each attempt ended in failure.
Just as he was about to give up on life entirely, Mr. Pun Rabin, a staff member from the Yau Tsim Mong Family Education and Support Centre, stepped into his life. Rabin actively followed up on his rehabilitation process, offering devoted care and support that helped Damarsing grit his teeth through the hardest of times. During his recovery, Damarsing rediscovered himself and found faith, embracing a new identity in Christ: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” (2 Corinthians 5:17). By God’s grace and his own firm determination, Damarsing successfully broke free from drug addiction. His once-estranged family embraced him anew, and he regained the trust of both family and friends.
Today, Damarsing and Rabin have built a deep bond of mutual trust and friendship. They meet regularly and work together in the community to support other brothers struggling with addiction. Although there is still a long road ahead, Damarsing has learned to be content and grateful.
He shares with deep gratitude:
“I believe God’s timing is perfect. He has a beautiful plan for everyone; we just need to trust, have faith, and wait patiently.”
