Fundraiser
The work of YMMSS is supported financially by government grants, by different funding bodies that are targeted for particular service needs, and by donations from the general public. To help raise funds through private donations for those services that are not financed by public funding, our Agency organizes fund raising activities such as a flag day, a walkathon, etc.
The Monthly Contribution Plan for the Methodist Study Trust Fund
The Methodist Study Trust was established in 1984. The goal is to enable students be financially sufficient and to demonstrate their potential by making good use of their strengths. Student Vetting Committee of MST will make decisions after reviewing the applications and interviewing the applicants to understand their needs and their study plans. Students who wish to apply for financial support from the Trust can download the application form on our Agency’s website, complete the application and send it together with their most recent report card and a photocopy of the HK Identity Card to: Methodist Study Trust, 2/F, 54 Waterloo Road.
At the same time, the Methodist Study Trust relies on donations from members of the public to provide support to students in need. We invite you sincerely to join in the Methodist Study Trust’s Monthly Donation Plan to help us help more students in need.
By using the Methodist Study Trust’s Monthly Donation Plan, we can rely on your regular contributions to ensure effective cash flow for supporting the number of students who need help to overcome poverty and the prospect of dropping out of school.
Monthly Donation Plan donors can arrange the monthly payments through direct debit from your bank account or credit card on a monthly basis. Your regular contribution will be used directly to meet the needs of students with disabilities and low income families. Regular monthly contributions also help reduce the administrative costs for the Methodist Study Trust, thereby helping us work efficiently to channel the benefits directly to meet students’ needs.
Receipts for the donations will be sent to the donors for tax exemption purpose on an annual basis. Donors making a contribution of $100 or more can use the receipt for tax exemption.

The Support Tin Shui Wai Social Service Plan
In past years, a significant number of emotional and financial problems have surfaced among individuals and families living in the Tin Shui Wai district. Frequent family tragedies happening in the district in recent years have also caught the concern and attention of the public. Our Agency has been proactive in providing social services in the district to support its residents all along. Aside from deploying school social workers to station in schools, we have also helped residents look for work, and women or parents solve their emotional problems. We organize numerous parenting activities to help improve the bond of residents in the community, build neighborhood networks, and reduce the chance of family violence.
Aside from having good caring neighbours, individual family members would have to learn mutual respect towards family members in order to develop healthy families. In view of this, we are organizing different fundraising activities to help develop more services in the Tin Shui Wai district. The donations will be used as family subsidies to help families with emotional or financial difficulties in the district strengthen the love and concern among family members. Examples of how the subsidies are used include helping families organize outdoor recreation activities, paying for extra-curricular activities for their children, development courses, and activities related to strengthening family harmony, etc.
