Shatin Young Night Drifters Service (Night Yangees)
Service Objectives
Our team’s social workers apply outreaching social work skills to provide services for the young night drifters in the district. These skills include crisis intervention for emergencies, organizing a hotline service, education and prevention programmes, support programmes, etc. The objective is to strengthen their ability to access community resources and to make use of mainstream services, to be their support as they face and handle problems. We also work on developing the young people’s potential, and to facilitate their all round development; as well as to promote better understanding with the community at large, thereby helping to build a harmonious atmosphere in the community.
Service Contents
Scope of Services
1. Services for Emergencies
Crisis intervention, short-term counselling, hotline counselling, escort home or to a temporary shelter, and handling appropriate referrals.
2. Prevention Work
Activities related to prevent drug abuse, sex education, legal information education; and training for improving self-confidence, social skills, and all-round development.
3. Other Support Services
Employment development and training, night-time educational activities, community inclusion programme, multifaceted performances.

Shatin Town Centre and eastern side of Shing Mun River, from Hin Keng Estate to A Kung Kok, including Hin Keng Estate, Lung Hang Estate, Sun Chui Estate, Chun Shek Estate, Sun Tin Wai Estate, Jat Min Chuen, Sha Kok Estate, Pok Hong Estate, Shui Chuen O Estate, Kwong Yuen Estate, etc.

Operating Hours for Night-time Outreaching Team
Tuesday、Wednesday: 10:00 p.m. to 02:00 a.m.
Thursday to Saturday: 10:00 p.m. to 06:00 a.m.
Public Holiday: Closed
(Services during day time could be arranged according to need.)
