The Yang Memorial Methodist Social Service (YMMSS) has upheld its tradition of innovation and quality service since its establishment in 1967, tirelessly working almost 60 years to provide social services to people from all walks of life. Currently, it offers over 40 services, including elder care, childcare, youth integrated services, outreach, rehabilitation, family counseling, clinical psychology, school social work, South Asian integrated services, services for new arrivals in Hong Kong, non-government-funded programs, and services in mainland China.

Our organization has received approval from the Social Welfare Department to hold a flag day fundraiser on Saturday, December 28, 2024. The theme for this year’s flag day is “Christmas is a time to love”, and we have invited the local illustrator Bulbble Inc. to design a set of five heart-themed flags for YMMSS. We hope that during the Christmas season, donors will extend and share blessings with those in need. The fundraising goal for this event is HKD 1.2 million, which will be used to support our multi-ethnic services in the Yau Tsim Mong district and our self-financed residential care home for the disabled. While part of our funding comes from government subsidies, the remainder relies on flag day fundraising and generous donations from benefactors. As Hong Kong’s social environment continues to evolve, resulting in new social issues and an increasing number of people in need of services, this flag day fundraiser is of great significance. All funds raised will be dedicated to various ministries to bring care and support to those in need.
