Service Objectives
In line with our Agency’s vision to provide multifarious services for society, our Centre has developed a holistic approach.
Service Contents
Physical and Mental Health Activities:
Physical check-ups; health talks; physiotherapy; small groups for health improvement
Education and Developmental Activities:
Introduction of community resources; special talks; classes (e.g. classes for Putonghua, computer usage, Chinese, Cantonese songs, etc.)
Recreational and Arts Activities:
Cultural and arts activities; festival celebrations; outings; birthday celebrations, self-help groups, etc.
Volunteer Development Activities:
Committee work; volunteer training; volunteer groups; social services; home visits for the elderly, etc.
Activities for Carers:
Caregiving skills training; mutual help groups; talks; workshops; loan of rehabilitation aids (e.g. wheelchairs, walkers) etc.
Outreaching Service for elders:
Reach out to elders in need and provide community information on available resources and services, in order to promote mutual help and a caring spirit in the community.
Personal Services:
Case counseling; referrals; home visits; letter writing; hair cutting, applying for the seniors card, information on social services, canteen service, etc.

Senior members and their carers can use above facilities free of charge, including books, newspapers, magazines, and reference materials on health and community resources, etc.
Service Target
- Residents who are 60 years old or over (can apply to become a member of the Neighbourhood Elderly Centre)
- Seniors 55 years old to 59 years old and living in Hong Kong (can apply to become a member of the Centre)
- Any Homantin resident who is a carer for an elderly person in the district.
Application of Services
1. Application for membership
Applicants need to bring their HKID card and two recent photos to our Centre in person during office hours to register as Centre member.
All Centre members need to come in person to renew their annual membership during the month of March every year.
2. Other service applications
Please call or come to our Centre in person to enquire.
Fee
The annual membership fee is $24. (For new members joining between March and September, the full fee for the year will be charged; for those joining between October and February, half fee(50%) of the membership fee will be charged. Thereafter, members will have to renew their membership and pay the annual fee during March every year.)
